The AS5-HUB Building of the Gijón Science and Technology Park hosted the AsDIH 2.0 Inaugural Conference this Wednesday, an event through which the Asturias Digital Innovation Hub opens a new phase aimed at continuing to accelerate the digital transformation of Asturian companies, with a strengthened focus on artificial intelligence, applied innovation, and industrial competitiveness.
The event brought together institutional representatives, companies, technology centers, universities, clusters, and organizations supporting entrepreneurship and innovation, in a meeting space designed to share vision, align efforts, and bring the real opportunities offered by advanced digital technologies closer to the Asturian business community.
The institutional opening was led by Iván Aitor Lucas del Amo, Director General for Innovation, Research, and Digital Transformation. This was followed by Javier Fernández, Director General for Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence of the Principality of Asturias, who addressed the role of artificial intelligence as a driver of modernization and the creation of new opportunities for companies and public administrations. The program also included contributions from representatives of SEKUENS, CTIC, Cluster TIC Asturias, the University of Oviedo, CEEI Asturias, and different companies participating in the first phase of the project (Icube, FORESTAL MALLEZA SL, CIS Robotics, Tekox).
During the conference, the main lines of work of AsDIH 2.0 were presented, reinforcing its value proposition to support SMEs, mid-sized companies, and public entities in their digitalization processes. The hub will continue to provide advisory services, experimentation and technological validation before investment, specialized training, support in identifying funding, and initiatives to connect with the innovation ecosystem, incorporating artificial intelligence and cybersecurity as cross-cutting elements with high impact on business processes.
This new phase of AsDIH 2.0 is born with a clear ambition: to bring advanced technologies closer to Asturian companies, facilitate the adoption of AI solutions, improve talent skills, and help more organizations undertake their digital transformation with expert support and a practical roadmap.
With this inaugural conference, AsDIH 2.0 strengthens its role as a meeting point and driving platform for advanced digitalization in Asturias. The goal is to continue generating opportunities, connect technological capabilities with business needs, and contribute to ensuring that Asturian companies incorporate innovation and artificial intelligence as real levers for growth, competitiveness, and the future.
