Asturias Digital Innovation Hub (AsDIH) began its new period of work yesterday with the addition of Asturias Hub Defensa and the Directorate General for Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence of the Principality of Asturias as partner entities and a priority focus on artificial intelligence.
The aim is to support 160 Asturian companies and entities through specialized training and coaching
The Asturias Digital Innovation Hub (AsDIH) project held a meeting yesterday to launch its new period of activity for 2026–2028, which will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) to continue promoting the digitization of the Asturian business fabric.
The meeting, which took place in the AS5-HUB building in Gijón, was attended by all the hub’s partners, including the two new members joining at this stage: Asturias Hub Defensa and the Directorate General for Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence of the Principality of Asturias. Both entities are joining the project as associated entities.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO STRENGTHEN THE DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL CAPABILITIES OF COMPANIES IN ASTURIAS
In this new phase, AsDIH will focus its strategy on artificial intelligence (AI), with the aim of providing services to more than 160 companies and entities in the region, drawing on its previous experience. With a budget of €1,901,398.56, the project will place special emphasis on training in AI technologies and offering coaching sessions and personalized advice aimed at their practical application in companies.
The training activities will be led by the Asturias ICT Cluster and the University of Oviedo, which will focus their efforts on strengthening the digital and technological capabilities of the participating organizations.
Among the first actions planned for this new stage are a visit to Aragón DIH, scheduled for next week, and AsDIH’s participation in the National EDIH Meeting, to be held in Terrassa in February. Both activities will serve to consolidate the cooperation network between national innovation hubs committed to digital transformation.
This new period of work begins after AsDIH received renewed confidence from the European Commission, which once again supports its role as a reference center for the digitization of the Asturian business fabric.
SUCCESS STORIES OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION IN INDUSTRIAL SME IN ASTURIAS
The meeting to launch the new AsDIH work period also served to highlight several success stories in the application of the latest digital technologies in SMEs in the Asturian industry. These success stories are the result of collaboration between companies and AsDIH partners developed during the first work period of the Asturian EDIH, between 2023 and 2025.
