Yesterday, the European Digital Innovation Hub Asturias (AsDIH) held a review meeting for the project’s second implementation period at the AS5-UB building in the Gijón Science and Technology Park. During the meeting, the consortium presented key progress and results, confirming that the objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) agreed upon with the European Commission had been met.
The session was opened by David González, Executive Director of SEKUENS, who highlighted AsDIH’s role as a strategic tool for driving the digital transformation of the Asturian business sector and strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem.
A highlight of the day was the participation of companies such as AESVAL, CIS Robotics, Maderas Siero, TEKOX, and TSK, which shared their experiences and use cases developed within the project framework. Through their testimonials, they demonstrated how AsDIH services have facilitated the adoption of advanced digital technologies, thereby boosting innovation, competitiveness, and the transformation of their business processes.
During the meeting, the consortium presented results from the project’s main lines of action, including testing and experimentation services (“Test Before Invest”), training and capacity-building initiatives, strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem, and communication and dissemination activities. The data presented highlighted the positive impact AsDIH is having on SMEs and organizations in Asturias by facilitating access to advanced technologies and supporting their digitalization processes.
The review was attended by representatives from the European Commission and expert evaluators Meritxell Gimeno García, Manuel Lai, and Sabri Pllana, who analyzed the project’s implementation status alongside consortium partners and several companies benefiting from the hub’s services.
The positive assessment of this second implementation period reinforces the role of the Asturias Digital Innovation Hub as a benchmark for supporting innovation and the adoption of advanced digital technologies, helping Asturian companies improve their competitiveness and better face the challenges of digital transformation.
