At AsDIH, we attended the 5th National EDIH Meeting, “Europe, the present and future of artificial intelligence,” held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Last week, AsDIH traveled to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to participate in the 5th National EDIH Meeting, “Europe, the present and future of artificial intelligence,” held at the Fernando Pessoa University of the Canary Islands and organized by CIDIHUB.
Representatives from our technical office and partners from the Asturias Digital Innovation Hub, such as FEMETALiNDUSTRY, Cluster TIC Asturias, CTIC Technology Centre, and the Sekuens Agency, attended this meeting with all the national EDIH and other key institutions.
“We want to improve the competitiveness of companies”
Daniel Sánchez Valdés, from CTIC, took to the stage on behalf of our hub to discuss artificial intelligence and also the particularities of Asturias, a “fundamentally industrial” region, where we want to improve the competitiveness of companies.
To achieve this goal, he explained that the partners that make up our hub offer “a risk-free testing environment where companies can check whether a technology can help them in their business.”
“Artificial intelligence has to reach everyone so that no one is left behind”
The following day, his colleague Marta Vázquez took part in the round table discussion “Spain in the Age of AI: A Female Perspective on Decisions That Will Shape a Generation,” in which she argued that labels should not exist.
She also emphasised the need for “artificial intelligence to reach everyone, so that no one is left behind”.
